Story told by: Brody
I’m one today! Lainey told me I would wake up as a much bigger boy, but I still feel pretty much the same. Maybe I’ll grow while I sleep tonight.
We started the day by heading out to breakfast for some delicious food for the birthday boy (that’s me!).
Since I’m the easiest kid there is, I just sat with Daddy and waited patiently for my food to come.
The food finally arrived! Lainey chose pancakes.
Henry chose french toast.
And I got a waffle. Wow! It was big!
Okay, okay, I couldn’t eat all of it, so Mommy cut it into pieces for me.
Daddy’s waffle had ice cream on it! (I’m the birthday boy. Shouldn’t I have had that waffle?)
I cleaned my plate (partly by dumping it on the floor, but hey, at least it’s clean).
After breakfast, we came home so I could take a morning nap. Then it was time for presents! I “walked” on over to the presents.
After afternoon naps (which I didn’t take because I’m starting a tradition of not taking afternoon naps on my birthday), we went to Ivy and Mac’s house because their family was having their second annual summer kick-off BBQ (and how perfect that it was on my birthday?!).
Henry immediately dunked in his head in the water table.
Then he started pouring water on himself, and invited his friends to pour water on him as well. Mommy had brought his bathing suit, but this started happening before she could get the bathing suit on him.
Oh, well. At least he was happy and entertained!
Lainey put on her bathing suit and played in the sprinkler with the big kids.
Loving my birthday evening!
Chloe and I share a birthday! She is nine today!
Mommy got us a cake!
Everyone sang us “Happy Birthday.”
Then Chloe and I blew out our candles. (We actually had to pretend to blow out the candles because the wind blew the candles out for us.)
Time to eat! I didn’t really want too much cake, though. I’m clearly trying to watch my figure.
Mommy and Daddy played Cornhole, and they were the winners!
When we got home, Mommy brought me upstairs to put me to bed. One of my favorite things is giving her kisses, and she managed to capture a picture.
And then it was time for bed!
I love being one! What a great day!
