Story told by: Mommy
After dancing into the wee hours of the morning, we woke up early to head to the Mayan ruins in Tulum. Thank goodness for an hour-long bus ride so we could get a little more sleep.
We had a tour guide who taught us the fascinating history of this place. We loved it!
Giant lizards!
Lindsay and Anjie joined us for the trip.
The Mayans sure knew how to choose prime real estate for their temples.
After we got back that afternoon, we met up with our friends for some pool time…
…and a delicious dinner at the Asian cuisine restaurant.
On Valentine’s Day we woke up to an incredible sunrise.
We went to the spa for a wonderful couple’s massage.
The spa was located out on the golf course of the resort.
Then back to the pool!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Some of the wedding crew! We didn’t know them before we arrived, but we quickly became friends!
At the end of the day, we snuck away for a special Valentine’s dinner at the Mayan restaurant on the golf course. Delicious!
After dinner, we met up with friends again for a drink and to say goodbye. Matt and Courtney held on tight to keep us from leaving, but it had to end at some point. We had to wake up three hours after this picture to catch an early flight home, but it was worth it for an amazing trip. We definitely missed our kids, but it was such a treat to get some refreshing time as a couple while celebrating the marriage of two of our closest friends.
