Story told by: Lainey
Happy Valentine’s Day! We had such a wonderful day!
We started out the morning by making red velvet pancakes!
Henry was lots of help in the kitchen.
Every good breakfast tastes best when there’s plenty of dancing while preparing it.
It was a delicious breakfast!
I felt like we were eating cake for breakfast, and I loved it!
After breakfast, we went to swimming lessons.
My teacher says I’m a fish in the water. I spend most of my time under water.
I’m getting pretty good at floating on my back.
Henry also loves the water. His teacher says he’s a natural swimmer!
He loves splashing in the water with daddy.
He loves playing with toys in the pool.
Henry also loves going under water and coming up with a big splash!
After swimming, I put on my special Valentine’s Day dress and got ready to go on a special date with Daddy.
I’ve been excited about this for days!
Daddy always has lots of kisses for me.
Daddy took me to Cougar Country, and I devoured my chicken fingers and french fries.
Then I got ice cream, which was my favorite part of lunch!
I also liked the toy that came with the meal. Who wouldn’t love a hot dog with hands and feet?!
I was quite excited to listen to music with Daddy in the car. He’s sure one great daddy!
While Daddy and I were on our date, Henry went home with Mommy to help her make a raspberry cheesecake pie. He indulged in a few of the raspberries.
When I got home, I couldn’t wait to show Mommy the flower that Daddy bought for me. (We also surprised Mommy with her own bouquet of flowers.)
Mommy and I have been busy over the last couple of weeks making decorations for Valentine’s Day.
I especially had fun making these coffee filter sun catchers!
A cute picture of Mommy and Daddy!
And as I like to say, Mommy’s belly is getting “bigger, bigger, bigger.” My baby brother will be here in just about eleven weeks!
After our naps, Mommy started working on our annual Valentine’s Day dinner. She made the delicious heart-shaped meatloaf!
We also had pink mashed potatoes and salad! So yummy! Mommy also made Shirley Temple drinks, but I didn’t like the fuzz (the fizz). I kept asking Mommy to get rid of the fuzz, so she finally gave me my milk. Maybe next year!
Our festive table! This is Henry’s first Valentine’s Day, so he was quite amazed at the decorations, and kept trying to take it all off of the table before dinner.
After dinner, we opened presents. I’ve been waiting for this moment for weeks! Grandma and Grandpa sent a great goodie bag, which included Minnie Mouse! Thank you!
Henry’s goodie bag included Mickey Mouse and a car. He obviously loved his toys because his look says, “Don’t touch my stuff. Or else.”
Henry’s favorite thing to do with all of the toys and cards was to chew on them.
Na Na and Ba Ba sent a cute book, and we can’t wait to read it! Thank you!
Great Grandma and Great Grandpa sent several gifts, one of which was this “Frozen” movie theater. Thank you! You were smart to know that anything related to “Frozen” is bound to be a hit!
And they sent Henry some toys for the bathtub. The box was his favorite!
We barely managed to get the toys out of the box before they went straight in his mouth. This kid takes his chewing very seriously.
The toys finally made it to the bathtub where they helped to add to the fun of our bubble bath!
We ended our fun-filled day with the cheesecake that Mommy and Henry made. Such a delicious treat! I hope that you all had as great of a Valentine’s Day as us. Can’t wait to share this day with a new baby brother next year!
