EBC Harvest Festival, 2014

Story told by: Lainey

We had the Harvest Festival at our church tonight. It was so much fun! I went as a cowgirl, and I brought along my trusty horse.

He may not fully enjoy being my sidekick. If you ask me, though, it’s the perfect gig.

IMG_4372.JPG

We played lots of games.

Henry and Daddy had a great time together tonight.

IMG_4395.JPG

In the middle of the games, we took a break for pizza.

IMG_4402.JPG

We let the horsey wander the pasture while we ate.

IMG_4414.JPG

When we were done eating, Mommy and I did the cake walk.

IMG_4409.JPG

I won a delicious cupcake!

IMG_4406.JPG

Hailey was a mermaid. I LOVED her costume!

IMG_4413.JPG

Mommy and I also decorated a cookie.

IMG_4412.JPG

I started eating my cookie sprinkle by sprinkle. Mommy finally convinced me to pick up the whole cookie. She sure knows how to ruin my fun.

We were very tired by the end of the night, but it was lots of fun. Thanks to my wonderful church for a great night!

Pumpkin Carving, 2014

Story told by: Lainey

We waited all day for Daddy to get home so we could carve pumpkins tonight! We waited for Henry to go to bed before we started carving. Once he doesn’t want to eat the pumpkins, he can join us (hopefully next year).

IMG_4303.JPG

Daddy started with my pumpkin. I wasn’t exactly thrilled to see the inside of the pumpkin. It was a little gross.

IMG_4305.JPG

Daddy handles the pumpkin guts like a champ!

IMG_4302.JPG

I requested stars on my pumpkin, so I watched while Mommy carved them into my pumpkin.

IMG_4308.JPG

We also had a Halloween cartoon playing, so I got a little distracted. When Mommy requested a picture of me with my pumpkin, this is what she got.

IMG_4328.JPG

After all of the carving was done, we got ready to head outside.

IMG_4325.JPG

Silly faces!

IMG_4332.JPG

The completed pumpkins. I loved seeing them shining bright!

IMG_4335.JPG

I’m one happy girl (mostly because I got to stay up way past my bedtime). As I type this, the pumpkin seeds are roasting in the oven. Can’t wait to try them!

Success!

Story told by: Lainey

I’ve been potty training for several days now. One day I simply asked Mommy to buy underwear, and I stopped wearing diapers. While I’ve done pretty well with going pee pee on the potty, pooping on the potty has been another story. I’ve basically been holding it until I’m ready to explode. This morning, though, I went poop on the potty! Mommy told me that as soon as I did that I could get a princess dress, so off to the store we went!

IMG_4270-0.JPG

It took awhile for me to pick out my dress (and Henry screaming sure didn’t help my concentration), but I finally picked out a Rapunzel dress. As soon as I got home, I had to check out my beautiful self in the mirror.

IMG_4273.JPG

Then I proceeded to model while I asked Mommy to take some pictures.

IMG_4274-0.JPG

Mommy splurged and bought the wand that goes with the dress. As you can see, it completes my outfit.

IMG_4276.JPG

One of my favorite things about this dress is that it leaves a trail of glitter wherever I go. (I have no doubt that Mommy loves this just as much as I do.)

IMG_4281.JPG

Before lunch I asked Mommy to put on some princess music so we could all dance together.

IMG_4283.JPG

Mommy and Henry are decent dancers, but they’ve got nothing on my moves.

IMG_4282-0.JPG

I’m thrilled to be a beautiful princess (who wears underwear)!

Wedding Weekend

Story told by: Lainey

Na Na and Ba Ba arrived on Wednesday to get ready for Uncle Jaron’s wedding!

IMG_4186.JPG

Na Na just got back from a trip to Hawaii, so she brought me a great outfit. Mommy especially loves the appropriate coconut shells.

IMG_4179.JPG

She also brought me some paper dolls. Those have been a big hit! Thanks Na Na!

IMG_4192.JPG

On Thursday night we had the wedding rehearsal, so Henry hung out with Great Grandma Jackie.

The big day finally arrived on Friday. I was one cute flower girl!

Daddy was the best man in the wedding. Both Daddy and Henry were very handsome!

DSC03130

Before a wedding starts, every good flower girl needs some food (but you can’t risk getting the beautiful dress dirty).

DSC03134

It’s almost time to walk down the aisle. I’m so excited (and I just can’t hide it)!

There I go (with Charlie, the ring bearer)! I did such a great job. I wasn’t even nervous with all of the people watching me.

Please note the wonderful path of flowers I created for the bride.

After the ceremony was done, it was time for dancing (including the father-daughter dance, the mother-son dance, and the bride-groom dance). I naturally thought that they all included me, so I helped myself to the dance floor. When everyone clapped, I knew that they were clapping for me.

Molly and I had lots of fun dancing together (although all fun stops when we have to pause for pictures).

DSC03161

Mommy and Daddy looked very nice! They clean up pretty nicely.

DSC03163

The happy couple, Jaron and Tiffany Robinson!

DSC03164

I made it all night long. I spent some time with Mike and Lauren. (Mike is my pediatrician, and he’s also Tiffany’s uncle. Small world.)

DSC03165

Ba Ba and I shut down the dance floor.

DSC03167

I spent about 80% of the night dancing. I couldn’t get enough of it. We surprised Tiffany and Jaron with a limo for their getaway from the church. Have a great honeymoon!

IMG_4202.JPG

We had A LOT of family over for breakfast the morning after the wedding. It was fun to have so many kids in the house. After they left, I taught Ba Ba how to play the piano.

IMG_4212.JPG

There were a few family members who stayed in town for Saturday night, so we met them for dinner and bowling.

IMG_4207.JPG

I enjoyed bowling, and insisted on carrying my own ball each time.

IMG_4208.JPG

IMG_4210.JPG

Henry didn’t bowl, but he loved all of the sounds and lights. What a fun and busy weekend!

Harvest Festival

Story told by: Henry

We went to check out the WSU Harvest Festival this morning.

IMG_4124.JPG

Exploring this giant pumpkin.

DSC02175 (2)

Here is Lainey doing the same thing two years ago! She seems to have grown just a little.

IMG_4140.JPG

My sister with the pumpkin that she just HAD to have (so of course Mom and Dad bought it for her).

IMG_4147.JPG

There was a game that involved guessing the weight of this giant pumpkin.

IMG_4148.JPG

Mommy guessed 76 pounds, and Daddy guessed 126 pounds. If they get the right weight, they get to take the pumpkin home. I don’t think they’ve thought this through.

IMG_4153.JPG

Then we went through the corn maze in search of several things: a plow, an orange pumpkin, a white pumpkin, a green pumpkin, and a wheelbarrow.

IMG_4159.JPG

We found everything but the green pumpkin. Not too shabby!

IMG_4165.JPG

A typical family picture – my sister refusing to cooperate, and me unsure of exactly what’s happening (and the sun in my eyes).

IMG_4167.JPG

Lainey was insistent that she didn’t want to take a hay ride on the tractor, so we sat and watched it for a bit. We were lucky to have some great weather for a fun morning!
