Friends at the Park

Story told by Lainey

We met a bunch of my friends at the park this morning to enjoy some amazing weather!

DSC02571

Playing on the riding toys.

DSC02575

Kylie was having trouble staying on the toy, so Mommy helped her out by balancing the other side.

DSC02580

Ivy and Kate had fun swinging.

DSC02581

Mommy and Evan’s mommy, Jamie.

DSC02582

We haven’t been to this park since last summer, and I’m much more independent. I definitely didn’t need Mommy’s help!

DSC02585

Christy (Ivy’s mommy), Jennisa (mommy to Clara, Kate, and Annie), and Mommy. Mommy sure has some beautiful friends!

DSC02586

Evan’s mommy brought some bubbles. That entertained us for quite awhile!

DSC02588

DSC02596

Kylie decided she needed a nap in the middle of the field.

DSC02600

Ivy and I chased bubbles for quite awhile.

DSC02605

We didn’t want to swing on the tire swing, but we were content standing by it.

DSC02608

Mommy tried to get me in on this picture with Ivy and Kylie, but I walked right past to the slide. At least it’s a cute picture of my friends!

DSC02609

Evan’s mommy did a great job of rocking him back and forth.

DSC02615

We ended our time at the park with a fun picnic! I love my friends.

Sunshine!

Story told by Lainey We are in for a few days of nice weather, which makes me so happy. Henry spent some time outside, but once he finally went inside for a nap, the real fun started!

DSC02539

Naturally I demanded to wear my winter hat on one of the nicest days of the year so far.

DSC02544

We broke out the brand new sidewalk chalk!

DSC02542

DSC02554

DSC02545

I also did lots of running. Back and forth, back and forth.

DSC02558

I didn’t quite understand swinging a hula hoop around my waist (maybe because Mommy couldn’t even demonstrate it without it falling to the ground almost immediately), so I jumped in and out of it. That was lots of fun!

DSC02561

I also had some great dance moves with the hula hoop.

DSC02565

And I finished our time outside with a game of golf. I’m sure this stance is popular among the professional golfers. I’m looking forward to many more nice days outside as we head into summer!

Victoria and Adelee Come to Visit

Story told by Henry

Mommy was so excited to have one of her favorite people, Victoria, come to visit today.

DSC02509

Victoria brought Adelee with her as well!

DSC02512

Adelee is 5 1/2 months old and is one of the cutest girls I know!

DSC02514

DSC02515

Victoria had fun meeting me for the first time. That’s understandable since I’m a pretty neat kid.

DSC02517

Adelee and I had lots of time to hang out while my big sister was taking her nap.

DSC02520

All smiles!

DSC02522

And I had to get a little smile in as well.

DSC02525

Once Lainey woke up, she had lots of fun playing with Adelee.

DSC02528

The bunny kept kissing Adelee.

DSC02534

These two are going to be trouble on future camping trips.

DSC02535

We ended the day with dinner at Southfork! (I of course didn’t get any dinner, but everyone said it was yummy.) We had such a fun visit with Victoria and Adelee, and can’t wait to see them again in a few months!

My Two-Month Checkup

Story told by Henry

I had my two-month checkup with Dr. Mike today! I was quite content during my visit.

DSC02495

Mommy took a lot of pictures. Oh my.

DSC02497

Here are my stats:

Height: 23.5 inches (75th percentile)

Weight: 15 pounds, 5 ounces (greater than 95th percentile)

Head Circumference: 16.5 inches (90th percentile)

DSC02500

I’ve been on medicine now for a week for reflux. For the last month, I cried all day long, all of the time, so Mommy and Daddy were desperately trying to figure out what was going on. This may be the answer! I’ve had happier moments this past week and I’m spitting up less. Dr. Mike says those are good signs! As the medicine heals the damage done to my esophagus from the reflux, I should continue to improve over the next week or two. Mommy could cry tears of relief!

DSC02501

I also have a small rash on my skin and in some of my creases (i.e. where my arm bends). Dr. Mike says it looks like I have sensitive skin just like my sister.

DSC02502

Here’s to hoping that my next two months are a little easier than my first two months! My parents almost sent me back, but my devilish good looks kept me around. Thank goodness!

Easter

Story told by Lainey

Today is Easter! It’s a day to celebrate Jesus rising from the grave. It’s also a day where the Easter Bunny visits.

DSC02409

The Washington Easter Bunny hopped by during the night, and so did two Illinois Easter Bunnies.

DSC02410

I was quite excited to see what he left last night!

DSC02415

Digging into a basket of goodies!

DSC02418

How in the world did the Easter Bunny know that I needed new sunglasses? They’re perfect!

DSC02420

A new book that I had to sit down to read right away.

DSC02423

DSC02424

Another basket of goodies!

DSC02425

Daddy’s Easter basket had some yummy candy, fun Cougar gear, and a big can of Red Bull. (Henry seems to be wearing Mommy and Daddy out. The Easter Bunny sure knows what he’s doing.)

DSC02431

More fun presents!

DSC02432

DSC02434

Waving at the dancing bunny.

DSC02440

Henry got some fun new toys as well!

DSC02442

DSC02443

The Illinois Easter Bunny knows how much I love gummy bears, so he was sure to put some in my basket. Mommy and Daddy let me have an extra special dessert after breakfast.

DSC02444

Before we left for church, we tried to get some pictures. It was only natural to have lots of tears at this point.

DSC02448

DSC02449

I really wasn’t in the mood to get my picture taken.

DSC02450

Fine. I won’t cry, but I’m definitely not smiling.

DSC02463

A quick family picture before we head off to church to celebrate a joyous holiday!

DSC02465

In the afternoon, we went to Saige’s house where we had a delicious dinner with lots of my friends.

DSC02467

I also got to have another egg hunt.

DSC02469

Two egg hunts in one weekend?! Awesome!

DSC02470

DSC02471

DSC02473

I decided to share an egg with my friend, Hazel. This was a rare moment of sharing, so I made sure that it was when Mommy and Daddy were looking.

DSC02484

Checking out the goodies from the egg hunt with Stella. I had a great Easter weekend with my friends and family! He is risen!

Easter Egg Hunt

Story told by Lainey

We started Easter weekend with a fun egg hunt in Pullman!

DSC02378

We got there a few minutes early and had time to snap a family picture. You can tell that I would much rather be hunting Easter eggs, but I (not so happily) obliged.

DSC02381

Waiting for the hunt to start with Mirabel and Ivy.

DSC02382

DSC02384

Here we go! Time to get some eggs!

DSC02388

DSC02389

Watching as Evan and Mirabel collect eggs. Evan got so many eggs. He wasn’t messing around.

DSC02391

One final egg before the hunt was over.

DSC02393

Look, Mommy! So many eggs!

DSC02395

Are we done taking pictures yet?

DSC02402

After we were done at the park, we went to Mirabel’s house for a brunch. There were lots of friends there and some delicious food. A great start to Easter weekend!

Easter Eggs!

Story told by Lainey

Mommy and I dyed Easter eggs today. It was my first time doing this, and I loved it!

DSC02285

The eggs are boiled and we’re ready to go!

DSC02291

After we dyed the water, we put the eggs in. I made sure to keep a close eye on the eggs!

DSC02293

DSC02298

Woah! That’s what happens?! So cool!

DSC02301

DSC02307

Our first three eggs!

DSC02311

Right in the middle of this, Henry woke up! He wasn’t happy.

DSC02312

While Henry ate, we let the eggs dry.

DSC02314

Waiting patiently for Henry to finish eating.

DSC02325

Once Henry was done eating, he had a few happy moments!

DSC02327

DSC02329

DSC02328

DSC02331

While Henry was happily hanging out, I added some stickers to the eggs!

DSC02323

Showing off my Donald Duck sticker!

DSC02335

Oops. I put a sticker over the damage, though. Stickers always make things better.

DSC02337

Putting on the final touches, and…

DSC02336

…we’re finished! This was a lot of fun! As soon as Daddy came home, I rushed to the refrigerator to show him my great work. I can’t wait to eat these yummy (and beautiful) eggs!
