Thanksgiving 2013

I got to celebrate Thanksgiving on the west side of the state. Na Na and I started the day by making rolls together.

006

005

I got to wear Na Na’s apron to protect my clothes. Doesn’t it look good on me?!

001

I sampled lots of raw dough just to make sure it was edible.

002

At first it was hard learning to use Na Na’s kitchen tools.

003

It didn’t take me long, though, to get comfortable and have some fun!

015

In the afternoon we went to Seattle to have dinner with Na Na’s side of the family at Aunt Jaffer’s house. I look a little concerned in this picture because no one has given me food yet! I’m a hungry girl!

018

There were over 20 people there. It was a full house!

019

020

Eating one of the rolls that Na Na and I made that morning. I was a happy girl once the food arrived!

022

We had delicious food and great company. I’m thankful for a great day with family!

Meeting Adelee

Victoria, one of Mommy’s best friends, had baby Adelee on November 11, 2013. We are on the west side of the state this week for Thanksgiving, so we finally got to meet her!

002

003

Adelee arrived two weeks early and weighed six pounds, eight ounces.

004

Daddy got to hold Adelee. We have to get Daddy ready for my baby brother!

009

Mommy and Daddy say that they REALLY need to get me ready for a little brother. I don’t know why, though. When he arrives, won’t he just sit around while I get all of the attention?

012

Victoria is doing such a great job as a mommy. She has a very happy and sweet little girl!

020

021

025

We had a fun morning hanging out at Victoria’s house!

026

I can’t wait for future play dates and camping trips with Adelee! I’m so happy to have a new friend!

My Bears

I have two pink bears who are very special to me.

001

I like to start the day by getting their shoes on.

002

Demonstrating to Mommy that your shoes go on your feet. (You would think Mommy would know this stuff by now.)

004

We make sure to stop frequently for hugs.

006

Daddy often gets in on the fun with the bears.

007

This was one of my first realizations that you can do something silly, take a picture, and then look at it on the camera. Mommy and I had fun with this for quite awhile.

019

I want to make sure the bears have lots of experiences in their life, so of course I’m starting them out with some light piano playing (in my experience I’ve found that it’s best to let them absorb the piano music first, and then later we’ll move onto the actual piano).

020

My bears also like to play on toys (and my baby doll often gets involved).

016

After lots of playing, I can tell the bears are tired.

011

I try this spot out first for a nap. They didn’t like it.

013

What about here? Oh, you guys like it? Perfect.

014

I think I’ll just settle down and take a nap with you. I love my bears!

Bowling

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Zeppoz to see my friend, Kimmi, tonight. She’s been teaching in another country, and is back in town for a couple of weeks. Once I gave her a hug, it was time to get down to the serious business of bowling.

002

I was pleased to find that they have toddler bowling shoes. I commented several times on how pretty these shoes were as Mommy was putting them on. Daddy was glad to hear that I’m easy to please when it comes to shoes!

005

I was very good at pushing the ball down the ramp.

007

I always stood very still to watch the ball go down the lane.

012

015

I was pretty insistent on carrying the ball, but Daddy seemed to think I needed help. Come on, Dad! I’m one strong girl!

017

By far, my favorite part of bowling was watching the ball come out of the machine. It’s like magic!

023

That ball surprised me every time!

020

Mommy also helped me with the bowling.

025

Despite the look on my face at the moment, I really did have lots of fun. In the middle of the round, we took a break for some yummy pizza. Once we finished the game, my final score was 69 (I got a great spare that contributed to that score). Not too bad for my first round of bowling!

Swimming with Daddy

I’m still doing swimming lessons every week and I love them! My lesson on Monday was canceled because someone threw up in the pool (it wasn’t me, I promise). I had my make-up lesson tonight, but no one else showed up, so Daddy and I got to have some free swimming time.

001

003

Kicking away!

005

I’m starting to get more comfortable with floating on my back, but it’s still not my favorite thing.

011

I LOVED it when Daddy threw me into the air!

013

015

021

Practicing my splashes. I don’t get it, but Mommy and Daddy seem to appreciate my splashes in the pool much more than in the bathtub.

033

024

I love jumping into the pool!

037

020

I had so much fun tonight! We should have Lainey-only swim lessons more often!

Orcas Island Vacation

Daddy’s cousin, Carrie, was getting married on Orcas Island this last weekend, so we made the trip across the state for it.

067

We took a ferry over to the island. We rented a house, and this was the view from the backyard. Beautiful! We rented the house with Na na, Ba ba, Uncle Jaron, Uncle Bob, Aunt Penny, Aunt Janet, and Uncle Terry. It was a big house and there was lots of space!

Aunt Janet and Uncle Terry aren’t on Carrie’s side of the family and just came up for fun, so I got to hang out with them while everyone else went to the wedding. This meant that I was happy playing and Mommy and Daddy were having an enjoyable night away!

032

Mommy and Daddy sat up on the balcony for the wedding and had a great view!

033

036

038

Mr. and Mrs. Nate and Carrie Korynta!

041

Everyone having a fun night at the wedding! Congratulations Nate and Carrie!

044

The next day Mommy, Daddy, and I went to explore the beach and enjoy the beautiful day.

048

Finding seashells in the sand.

050

052

054

Climbing over logs with Daddy. I love it when he counts to three and I can take a big jump off of the log.

056

057

Silly face!

060

Drawing in the sand. When asked what I was drawing, I replied, “Lainey.”

065

Walking hand-in-hand with Daddy.

It was a great weekend on the island. We stayed for three nights. We had time to play games and sit around the fireplace. We also had time to go shopping, visit the local bakery, and explore the beach. Such a fun weekend with a special wedding!

Halloween 2013

This was my first Halloween where I got to go trick-or-treating. It was a blast!

001

It was a cold night, so I had to bundle up to head outside. In addition to my Cabbage Patch Doll outfit, I got to wear some Cougar gloves.

003

I loved my gloves so much that I just had to kiss them.

004

005

We visited places all around our block in Colton.

007

Our first stop was the library.

008

Then we visited our neighbors.

009

The start of some yummy candy!

012

014

018

020

I got very good at saying “Trick or Treat.” My version of it was “Tit Teet.” I also said “Thank you,” but it sounded more like “Dee doo.”

021

My last stop of the night was at my friend Stella’s house in Uniontown.

023

I actually got to play with Stella that night because Mommy and Daddy went to the WSU football game.

027

We had such a fun night together. I love Stella and her toys!
