On Saturday, we all made applesauce!
We bought five big boxes from the WSU orchard. That’s the most apples we’ve ever bought for applesauce!
I was a big helper with sorting the apples.
Daddy was in charge of the washing, peeling, and coring of the apples.
Grandma was there to help with the chopping.
While I was still awake, Grandpa was in charge of watching me. He definitely had the best job of all!
The first pot of apples! Mommy was in charge of stirring for awhile, and then moved on to filling the bags with applesauce.
Once I went to sleep, Grandpa came to help with the stirring.
Three pots full of apples!
All four pots are finally going! We had to refill these pots many, many times to get all of the apples cooked.
Our first four bags of applesauce!
After six hours of work, we had 65 quart-sized bags of applesauce. That should last us for a year! I can’t wait to try it!!
After a long day of making applesauce, we spent the evening eating pizza at Fazzari’s in Clarkston. We then came home to watch some Cougar football on TV! What a great day!
