Lots of Applesauce!

On Saturday, we all made applesauce!

057

We bought five big boxes from the WSU orchard. That’s the most apples we’ve ever bought for applesauce!

059

I was a big helper with sorting the apples.

060

063

066

Daddy was in charge of the washing, peeling, and coring of the apples.

067

070

Grandma was there to help with the chopping.

071

076

While I was still awake, Grandpa was in charge of watching me. He definitely had the best job of all!

080

The first pot of apples! Mommy was in charge of stirring for awhile, and then moved on to filling the bags with applesauce.

081

Once I went to sleep, Grandpa came to help with the stirring.

082

Three pots full of apples!

084

All four pots are finally going! We had to refill these pots many, many times to get all of the apples cooked.

085

Our first four bags of applesauce!

093

After six hours of work, we had 65 quart-sized bags of applesauce. That should last us for a year! I can’t wait to try it!!

092

After a long day of making applesauce, we spent the evening eating pizza at Fazzari’s in Clarkston. We then came home to watch some Cougar football on TV! What a great day!

Volleyball Game: WSU vs. UW

I went to my first volleyball game last night to see WSU play the University of Washington.

021

There was no way I was going to pay attention to pictures begin taken. There was so much going on!

025

022

I liked standing on the edge and looking around. I occasionally tried to dive head first into the student section in front of me. I’m just ready to be a WSU Cougar!

029

I saw Butch right away and started yelling his name (“Bu, Bu, Bu”).

032

But then he got a little closer, and I decided it was best to view him from the safety of Grandpa’s arms.

039

Once the game finally started, I loved it. I especially loved pointing out the ball every time I saw it.

044

Most of my pictures are blurry because I couldn’t stop dancing, wiggling, squirming, etc. It was just too exciting!

052

046

My game face.

054

Toward the end of the game, I finally sat in Daddy’s lap as long as he let me drink from his water bottle (i.e. pour it all over myself and Daddy).

Unfortunately, the Cougs lost. However, I still had a great time, and hopefully I’ll get to see a win at my next game. Go Cougs!

A New Puppy

I got a new puppy from Grandma and Grandpa Steck!

002

Yes, it’s plastic. No, it doesn’t bark. I still love it, though!

003

Na Na and Ba Ba have one that I play with in Tacoma. Grandma and Grandpa thought it would be fun if I had one at home as well.

006

I love walking my puppy all over the house.

007

009

013

I often check in on him to make sure he’s doing okay.

017

I can be a little rough as well.

018

It’s probably good that I practice with this plastic puppy before I get a real puppy. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

WSU vs. University of Idaho

Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa went to the WSU game last night. I stayed at home to play with some friends.

001-001

They had a great time. The Cougs won 42 – 0. It was their first home shutout since 1999. Yay! Go Cougs!!

P.S. Unfortunately there are no cute pictures of me for this post. However, I promise there will be some soon!

My 18-Month Checkup

I went to see Dr. Mike today for my 18-month checkup.

001

While we waited I spent some time coloring.

004

005

I eventually shredded this paper and shared the confetti with Dr. Mike.

I’m happy to say that I’m a healthy girl. Here are my stats:

Height: 34 inches (95th percentile)

Weight: 25 pounds, 11 ounces (75th percentile)

Head circumference: 20 inches (95th percentile)

Mommy and Daddy have also been noticing a little bump under my skin near my belly button. Dr. Mike said that it’s just a weak spot in my stomach that causes a tiny bulge (but it’s different than a hernia). He said that it’s nothing to worry about because over time my stomach muscles will grow stronger and help to strengthen this weak spot.

Dr. Mike said that I acted like a perfect angel, and that he can’t ever imagine me being naughty for Mommy. I agree! Mommy just makes those stories up.

After one quick shot, we were out of there! Hopefully no more visits until my two-year checkup!

Wallowa Lake State Park

We went camping in Wallowa Lake State Park for Labor Day Weekend! It’s in Oregon, and isn’t far from where Mommy went to middle school and high school. She always talks about this place, so I finally decided that we had to go check it out.

006

We got there on Friday night, but it was late so we went right to sleep. On Saturday morning we went exploring. On our walk, we came across a deer.

011

I’ve never been this close to a deer, so I was definitely squealing quite a bit.

012

I think my squealing interrupted his eating. Sorry…we’ll move on.

015

We spent some time watching the boats on the lake. It was a gorgeous day!

016

When we went back to our campsite, it was nap time for me. Mommy and Daddy played a card game. (Notice how tired they look…they claim that I woke up before the sunrise, didn’t really take naps, and stayed up way too late. I say that I just wanted to enjoy every minute of camping!)

018

After lunch, we went on a walk into town. On our way we stopped to take a picture at the state park sign.

024

Daddy and I went off-roading to check out the river.

026

027

Oops…Daddy pushed me a little too far and I was stuck on the edge of the rock.

028

I wasn’t worried, though. Daddy is always there to save the day!

031

We saw a giant chair, but there was no way I was getting in that thing by myself. So Daddy climbed up with me for a fun picture.

033

Then Mommy and Daddy taught me how to lick an ice cream cone. There’s no going back now!

035

037

Success!

040

I helped Daddy burn off some of the calories from his ice cream by making him be my horsey.

043

It took me awhile to remember that I had to hold on, but once I did…

044

…off we went!

047

050

Once we got back to the campsite, Mommy and Daddy were THRILLED to find that they could listen to the WSU vs. Auburn football game on the radio (they were somehow able to tune in a station from Pullman)! So, while they entertained themselves with the game, I entertained myself with the dirt.

053

057

060

061

066

I was a very dirty, but very happy, little girl. (By the way, did you notice my belly button?)

068

On Sunday we woke up and walked to the lake.

070

073

077

We found a small stream by the lake that I enjoyed playing in.

084

When we weren’t exploring the area, I got to play with the boy at the campsite next door.

087

090

093

095

096

099

On Monday morning, it was raining when we woke up so we pulled out our sweatshirts.

100

I was a big helper to Daddy while we were packing up. He pulled out the tent stakes, and I ran away with them. Perfect!

We had such a fun weekend, and I know why Mommy loves this place so much. I can’t wait to go back!
