My family LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the 4th of July!
Daddy started the day by making some special pancakes.
I chowed down on this first pancake!
Yum!
I ate it so quickly that Daddy had to encourage me to drink some milk.
A second pancake? I don’t mind if I do.
After breakfast, we got ready to head to the Johnson parade.
We had to carry our chairs to the car, and I was a big help!
Once we got to the parade, I plopped right down and was ready to go. Time to entertain me.
We had to wait a little bit for the parade to start, though, so I hung out with some friends. Kate, Clara, and Emma kept me quite entertained.
The Zapf family came to join in the fun!
Meet Emma’s new brother, Cole. He’s only six weeks old, and was quite the trooper!
Mommy spent time entertaining Kate and Clara.
The Williams family was also there with ADORABLE festive t-shirts!
Part of the parade crew waiting patiently for the parade to start.
It’s finally time!! I loved the bagpipes, even when they stopped right in front of us. So fun!
I also loved the Star Wars gang.
I made sure to wave to them as they went by.
After the great parade, we went home so I could take a nap. While I was sleeping Mommy made this yummy dessert for the Reed’s 4th of July BBQ.
When we got to the Reed’s house, Troy greeted us in his awesome shades!
Jenny’s delicious treats!
After I ate TWO hot dogs, TWO plates of fruit, and other assorted treats (wow!), Daddy and I went swinging. I didn’t know Daddy could swing. He’s actually pretty good at it (although I’m still better).
Our final stop of the day was Sunnyside Park for fireworks. Emma did a great job of pushing me.
We had to hang out for about three hours until the fireworks started.
Ian and Christy joined us, which was fun. Ian is so goofy, and really entertained me! They will have a baby girl (Emma) in October. I can’t wait for another playmate!
We went to go see The Fabulous Kingpins playing music, but it was a little loud for me. I was happy in Mommy’s arms, but there was NO WAY I was going to get down and dance.
We wandered back to take a cute picture of the Grunenfelder family, and then…
…we went to see the fire truck! I got my very own hat!
Emma and I got to drive the fire truck. That was pretty neat!
Emma and I got to do some fun dancing, or at least that’s what I thought. Emma apparently thought we were doing “Ring Around the Rosy,” so after we danced, we…
…all fell down. Hmmm, not quite sure that I loved this. Maybe next year.
Mommy and Jenny got to spend some time relaxing. I thinking Mommy liked that a lot!
Mommy and I shared some nice kisses. I sure like my mommy.
I also played my favorite game of sneaking up on Mommy and Daddy. I quietly sneak up to touch their back, and boy oh boy, I sure scare them!
He doesn’t even know I’m there.
Surprise, Daddy, it’s just me!
It’s FINALLY time for fireworks (about three hours past my bedtime)! Mommy and I snuggled up to watch them. I didn’t cry when they started, but I’m not sure that I loved them. Instead, I rolled over on Mommy and went to sleep.
Overall, it was a great day! I can’t wait for next year!
So fun! Gotta love the Johnson parade…and of course the kingpins! Haha! Miss you guys and can’t wait to see you soon!
