Art Party

The Powers family invited us (and a bunch of other kids) over for a fun art party today.

002

Our first task when we got there was to paint a paper plate to create our sun. Zander is already hard at work on his plate.

005

They had a six-person easel that we used for our painting. How cool!

009

Don’t interrupt the artist while she’s working.

013

016

022

After we finished painting, it was time to create butterflies using coffee filters, markers, and water.

025

I loved this purple marker!

027

I also enjoyed decorating my face. Don’t I look lovely?

034

Check out my sweet dolphin tat! I keep touching it, but it won’t go away. Very interesting…

037

Then we took a break for lunch, followed by some yummy dessert. That made me one happy girl!

046

After lunch, Mommy helped me to assemble my mobile.

050

Phew! All of that creative art work sure took it out of me. It’s hard work (but also lots of fun)!

My First Visit to the Dentist’s Office

I went to see Dr. Fisher for the first time today. I was very serious during most of the appointment because there were so many new things to see and explore.

007

I sat on Mommy’s lap for the appointment so I would feel comfortable. Mommy’s friend, Corinne (and also our hygienist), brought out the horse so we could practice brushing his teeth.

008

Still not quite sure why we’re here.

009

Corinne gave me a brand new toothbrush, which I really liked!

After this, Dr. Fisher came in to look at my mouth. Mommy didn’t take any pictures during this time because I was a little unhappy. He spent about 30 seconds looking in my mouth. I have seven teeth (with a molar on the way). I also have a little plaque between my two bottom front teeth, so Dr. Fisher told Mommy that she needs to start flossing just between those two teeth. Ha! I’d like to see her try!

010

After I was all done with Dr. Fisher, Corinne gave me a wrist band from the prize box.

013

Ready to leave the dentist’s office with a new toothbrush and a wrist band. All in all, it wasn’t too bad of a morning!

Animal Sounds!

Lainey has started imitating animals. She loves to identify them in books and mimic their sounds.

Troy and Hailey’s Birthday Party

We got to go to the Moscow water park today to celebrate Troy’s 6th birthday and Hailey’s 3rd birthday.

001

We started the party with some yummy pizza.

003

This party was extra special because the Davis family was visiting from California. This is Riley, Micah’s younger brother, who I didn’t get to meet until this trip. He sure loved that pizza!

007

Fun in the pool after lunch.

010

Hailey with her mommy and daddy.

012

Mommy with two of her great friends, Jenny and Molly.

014

Daddy and I had lots of fun in the water (as always)!

019

I am SO comfortable in the water (maybe a little too comfortable)!

020

I liked to get up to my nose in the water. Just enough for me to be comfortable, but enough to make Mommy and Daddy nervous. Perfect!

022

So much fun!

026

Micah and his mommy. I can’t believe how much bigger he has gotten since I saw him last summer!

027

Lots of presents! The theme of the party was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Minnie Mouse. Those go together, right?

030

Time to open presents!

043

045

048

Simon had quite the messy cupcake!

059

070

Hailey didn’t want to model her new ears, so Mya did a great job of doing so!

080

The cool piñata!

085

Every child took a turn swinging at the piñata, and then…

093

…candy was suddenly everywhere!!

097

I even managed to snag a piece of candy. I didn’t let it out of my sight.

103

Daddy helped me to put a Minnie Mouse ring on my finger.

104

I liked the ring at first, but then I wasn’t so sure.

107

Troy modeling his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask and his BIG muscles!

108

We finished the day with a yummy cupcake and a little more swimming! What a fun day!

Happy Birthday Troy and Hailey!

Kanaskat-Palmer State Park

This weekend we met Victoria and Karl on the west side of the state to go camping.

006

When we got there, I started exploring!

012

I also stayed busy with bringing piles of dirt to the tarp. I’m such a big helper!

014

I also kicked back with some good books. It’s vacation already!

033

What, Mommy? You don’t want me dumping handfuls of dirt on you? Why not? It seems perfectly reasonable to me.

041

Time for Daddy to start a fire so we can have some s’mores!

045

Karl got a little messy with his s’mores!

046

Yum, yum, yum!

048

After a good night of sleep, it was time for breakfast.

050

Mommy and Victoria

057

After breakfast, it was time for my nap, so the adults played Mexican Train. Karl was the winner, and Daddy was the loser. (In fact, we figured out that Daddy has lost Mexican Train six times in the past seven years. Not a great record.)

062

When I woke up, we went to explore the river.

066

Rocks, rocks, and more rocks! I was thrilled!

068

Daddy introduced me to the fun of throwing rocks in the river.

065

While Daddy and I threw rocks in the river, Mommy got a picture of Victoria’s baby bump at 19 weeks. There is a little GIRL in there who I can’t wait to meet in November!!

074

Victoria helped me throw some rocks in the river as well.

086

Then I was finally able to get up on the rock all by myself, and I was pretty darn proud!

089

Karl went on an ice cream run for his pregnant wife, so of course we all had to share. Since we didn’t have a way to keep it frozen, we had to eat the entire carton.

091

I pitched in and helped out.

098

Not the healthiest, but hey, we’re camping!

099

We ended the day with Daddy grilling burgers, and…

101

…Karl making our hobo dinners over the coals in the fire pit.

On Sunday morning, we were able to spend some time relaxing before we had to drive home. It was such a great weekend, and I can’t wait to see Karl and Victoria again!

Fourth of July

My family LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the 4th of July!

002

Daddy started the day by making some special pancakes.

005

I chowed down on this first pancake!

008

Yum!

012

I ate it so quickly that Daddy had to encourage me to drink some milk.

016

A second pancake? I don’t mind if I do.

019

After breakfast, we got ready to head to the Johnson parade.

022

We had to carry our chairs to the car, and I was a big help!

025

028

Once we got to the parade, I plopped right down and was ready to go. Time to entertain me.

036

We had to wait a little bit for the parade to start, though, so I hung out with some friends. Kate, Clara, and Emma kept me quite entertained.

041

The Zapf family came to join in the fun!

042

Meet Emma’s new brother, Cole. He’s only six weeks old, and was quite the trooper!

044

Mommy spent time entertaining Kate and Clara.

066

The Williams family was also there with ADORABLE festive t-shirts!

069

Part of the parade crew waiting patiently for the parade to start.

074

It’s finally time!! I loved the bagpipes, even when they stopped right in front of us. So fun!

083

I also loved the Star Wars gang.

085

I made sure to wave to them as they went by.

093

After the great parade, we went home so I could take a nap. While I was sleeping Mommy made this yummy dessert for the Reed’s 4th of July BBQ.

096

When we got to the Reed’s house, Troy greeted us in his awesome shades!

098

Jenny’s delicious treats!

111

After I ate TWO hot dogs, TWO plates of fruit, and other assorted treats (wow!), Daddy and I went swinging. I didn’t know Daddy could swing. He’s actually pretty good at it (although I’m still better).

117

Our final stop of the day was Sunnyside Park for fireworks. Emma did a great job of pushing me.

121

We had to hang out for about three hours until the fireworks started.

122

Ian and Christy joined us, which was fun. Ian is so goofy, and really entertained me! They will have a baby girl (Emma) in October. I can’t wait for another playmate!

126

We went to go see The Fabulous Kingpins playing music, but it was a little loud for me. I was happy in Mommy’s arms, but there was NO WAY I was going to get down and dance.

127

We wandered back to take a cute picture of the Grunenfelder family, and then…

129

…we went to see the fire truck! I got my very own hat!

140

Emma and I got to drive the fire truck. That was pretty neat!

144

Emma and I got to do some fun dancing, or at least that’s what I thought. Emma apparently thought we were doing “Ring Around the Rosy,” so after we danced, we…

143

…all fell down. Hmmm, not quite sure that I loved this. Maybe next year.

153

Mommy and Jenny got to spend some time relaxing. I thinking Mommy liked that a lot!

164

Mommy and I shared some nice kisses. I sure like my mommy.

157

I also played my favorite game of sneaking up on Mommy and Daddy. I quietly sneak up to touch their back, and boy oh boy, I sure scare them!

169

He doesn’t even know I’m there.

171

Surprise, Daddy, it’s just me!

175

It’s FINALLY time for fireworks (about three hours past my bedtime)! Mommy and I snuggled up to watch them. I didn’t cry when they started, but I’m not sure that I loved them. Instead, I rolled over on Mommy and went to sleep.

Overall, it was a great day! I can’t wait for next year!
