I have one of the best dads in the whole wide world, so Mommy and I spoiled him today!
Daddy got to start his morning with a book and coffee. He loved it!
While he relaxed, Mommy slaved away in the kitchen on his top-secret Father’s Day dessert.
Once I woke up, we had breakfast. Nothing says, “We love you so much, Daddy!” like melted doughnuts and burned bacon. We had some slight mishaps, but Daddy still appreciated it.
Next it was time for presents. Mommy gave Daddy a card about which he was very excited!
She also got him some good books. Looks like I have some fun dates with Daddy in my future!
Then Daddy opened my present. Even though I screamed and screamed during the making of this gift, deep down I was very excited to give it to Daddy.
Daddy does a great job of holding my hand!
When Mommy blow dries her hair every morning, I ask her very nicely to blow dry my hair as well. This is the face I make when it’s happening.
Mommy and Daddy asked for a nice picture before church. It had already been a long morning. This is all I had left to give.
After we got home from church, Mommy started preparing baby back ribs for dinner – an EXTRA special treat for Daddy. Step #1 was to simmer the ribs for an hour.
Step #2 was to bake them in the oven for three hours.
During the afternoon, Daddy wanted to weed. Go for it, Daddy!
Then I woke up from my nap and was ready to get outside and enjoy the beautiful 80-degree weather!
Daddy and I had a lot of fun playing in the sprinkler.
I really started having fun when Daddy began splashing me.
I’m also getting REALLY good at climbing up our play structure.
Made it to the top!
The final step of the ribs was to grill them for just about 20 minutes or so to add a little crispiness. (Daddy also grilled some asparagus for the dinner tonight and chicken for lunches later in the week.)
The grill master!
After smelling these bad boys all day, they were finally finished! We had such a yummy dinner!
After dinner was over, Mommy brought out the Father’s Day Fruit Pizza. Oh. My. Goodness. This was amazing! Mommy and Daddy even had seconds. Yum, yum, yum!
After dinner, we still had some time before I needed to go to bed, so we went outside to help Daddy wash the cars.
Okay, okay, I know I’m supposed to be helping, but I’m just so tired.
We celebrated Daddy so much today that I couldn’t move a muscle. I was wiped!
I love you very much, Daddy, and I hope you had a special day. I know that I sure had fun!
P.S. I have many other special men in my life (i.e. Grandpa Jim and Grandpa Roland), so I hope you had a great Father’s Day as well!
