First Bike Ride of the Season

We were happy to have Daddy home for Memorial Day! We wanted to celebrate the day by going on a six-mile bike ride.

004

Ready to go in my cool bike carrier. Thanks Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Adams!

008

We rode out on the trail for three miles, and then stopped so I could stretch my legs.

010

There were some pretty flowers out there.

013

Being goofy with my silly mommy.

015

And what is a bike ride without an angry temper tantrum? Mommy and Daddy wouldn’t let me run into oncoming bicycle traffic. They’re so mean to me.

017

Somehow I managed to get over the injustice so we could take a family picture before heading three miles back into town.

019

Daddy did a great job of pulling me the whole way. We made it back to the car just before it started raining. Perfect timing!

Planting the Garden!

We finally had a sunny day on which we had nothing planned, so we planted our garden!

I did a great job of helping Daddy plant the squash.

I also did a great job of eating dirt. I don’t know why Mommy didn’t like it. I had a blast!

2013-05-19_15-04-11_129

Mommy and I rode all over the place in the wheelbarrow.

037

I also got out my gardening tools and went to work on the concrete driveway.

042

After awhile Kate and Clara came over to help. I just had to give Kate a pat on the back for coming. She’s such a good friend.

043

I was so excited to see her. She didn’t seem to share my same excitement. Hmmm…I may have been a little too crazy.

049

Clara did a good job of helping Daddy water the plants.

051

Kate and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out whose turn it was on the slide.

052

We also couldn’t quite figure out which direction to go.

058

Taking a water break. This day sure was exhausting.

063

Mommy was watering and Daddy walked right in front of the hose. (Daddy claims differently, but Mommy promises that her story is correct.)

After several hours, we had our garden ready to go. I can’t wait to see the first sprouts coming up!

Mya’s Swim Meet

On Saturday, we went to Lewiston to watch my friend, Mya, swim in her very first swim meet!

001

Here she is checking out the competition.

007

This was my vantage point for the race. Not too shabby.

008

It’s getting closer to start time. I think I was more nervous than Mya!

009

011

My daddy is so silly.

014

Taking a moment to view my surroundings to best figure out to slip into the pool undetected. Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy were just a little too quick for me.

018

The race is about to start!

021

There she goes!

022

025

028

033

034

All done! She easily won her heat. She came in third overall (which was really great considering Mya is only eight-years-old and she was beat by two ten-year-olds). I’m very proud of her! After she was done, we went to celebrate at Red Lobster with Mya’s family. It was a great day!

Happy Mother’s Day!

I have so many special women in my life! I got to spend today celebrating Mommy and Grandma Shelly.

003

This is the time that Mommy got out of bed. She was SO EXCITED! Grandpa was amazing and got up early with me at 6:30. He gave me a bath and gave me a yummy breakfast.

005

Mommy got to start her morning with reading a magazine that she hasn’t been able to read in weeks, and playing on her Kindle.

008

Mommy and Grandma also got to watch “Price is Right” (which was already recorded on the DVR). Their favorite show to watch together!

012

In the middle of a relaxing morning, Grandpa came back from Starbucks to deliver coffee to Grandma and Mommy.

015

PJs, “Price is Right,” and coffee. Nothing better!

020

After lots of lounging around, Grandma got up to make French toast for everyone.

022

It was yummy!

023

While I took my morning nap, Mommy got to watch two episodes of “Ellen.” This made Mommy very happy.

027

Once I woke up, I had some fun with Uncle Jared and Uncle Jeff.

031

Then it was time to open presents. I was a big helper.

035

Mommy got some nice cookware! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

038

Then it was time for Grandma to open presents. She started with some nice lotions from Uncle Jeff and Uncle Jared!

040

Then I helped her open up some presents from Grandpa.

043

For one of her presents, Grandma got some candles. I needed to test them out by sticking my whole face into the candle.

045

Yep, this is also a good candle. I approve!

046

We went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. Grandma and Grandpa celebrated with some yummy drinks (that they wouldn’t let me have)!

047

So, they just give you these chips for free? They’re delicious! After this, I decided to dump our free chips all over the floor. Good thing they can bring us more!

053

I also wanted to try a lime. I had several different reactions to this.

055

061

063

A fun, yummy lunch!

064

After another nap, Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy, and I went on a walk to the park.

068

I loved riding in the wagon!

071

Having fun in the special swing!

084

I also loved going down the slide!

085

087

090

I got to drive the toy fire truck with Grandma.

106

After I went to bed, the Mother’s Day celebration continued. Grandpa grilled burgers for everyone.

108

They ended the day by eating Oreo ice cream cake from Cold Stone and watching a movie. Mommy said it was a perfect Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the women in my life. I love you very much!

Uncle Jared’s College Baseball Tournament

We went to Wisconsin on Thursday to see Uncle Jared’s baseball tournament. It was being held at Concordia University Wisconsin.

001

Due to heavy traffic and construction, we arrived a few innings late to the first game. Jared wasn’t pitching, but here is his team on the field (the white and blue team). He plays for Aurora University.

003

I spent a lot of the game running around.

005

I was being such a goofy girl.

006

And of course I had to explore everything on the ground.

011

Look, Grandpa! They’re playing baseball!

019

By the end of the game it was 50 degrees and raining pretty heavily. Not ideal baseball conditions. Jared’s team won, though, 1-0! Yay! After this we went back to the motor home to warm up and have good night of sleep.

047

Uncle Jared’s next game was on Friday at 4:30, and he was pitching!

052

049

Uncle Jared did a great job of pitching!

059

I made it through the first inning of the game. It was 43 degrees and windy, so it was much too cold for me. Mommy and I spent the rest of the game across the street in the lobby of a dorm. We were really bummed we couldn’t watch the rest of the game, but we did get to talk to some nice college students who thought I was pretty darn cute.

065

The team’s defense had some major errors, so despite Jared’s great pitching, they lost 5-1. He still came out after the game to give me a kiss and get a picture.

066

Mommy and Uncle Jared had to get a picture, too. Since Aurora University lost, they had another game about 20 minutes after this one to determine if they would stay in the tournament. Mommy and I went back to the motor home so I could go to bed. Unfortunately, they lost their second game. Bummer! Uncle Jared is only a junior, though, so he’ll have his senior year to win this tournament!

Jelly Belly Factory Tour

We are in Wisconsin this weekend for Uncle Jared’s college baseball tournament. His game wasn’t until 4:00 today, so Mommy, Grandpa, Grandma, and I went to the Jelly Belly Factory!

023

They gave us a free tour to learn about how those yummy Jelly Belly jelly beans are made.

027

We were asked to wear these hats during the tour. Mommy’s hat didn’t quite fit her, so she rested it on top of her giant head.

029

We rode on a train through the warehouse to learn about the jelly beans. We couldn’t take any pictures while we were on the tour, but it was really interesting. They told us that Very Cherry is their most popular flavor, but Popcorn is giving Very Cherry a run for its money. What?!? Mommy hates the popcorn-flavored Jelly Belly. She is definitely not helping it rise in popularity.

030

The store. Oh. My. Gosh. It was amazing!

031

Grandpa and I are ready to start shopping!

035

Checking out the bag we got for Grandma Melissa. It’s filled with some banana Jelly Bellies and a LOT of root beer Jelly Bellies (because the root beer dispenser went a little crazy). We’ll have them waiting for you Grandma!

036

So many choices! Mommy was very excited about the Mint Mojito Jelly Bellies.

040

Our loot. Grandma and Grandpa also got some fun things like chocolate-covered Jelly Bellies, and a bag of Belly Flops. These are all of the Jelly Bellies that are misshapen. They look funny!

045

“You Know What I Mean, Jelly Bean?” Grandma and Grandpa bought me this fun shirt. This was a fun day learning about Jelly Bellies!

Children’s Discovery Museum

096

Today Mommy, Grandma, and I went to the Children’s Discovery Museum.

006

Of course I found the balls right away!

009

I carried this ball around for quite awhile.

015

I loved these foam pieces. Look at my strength!

019

I crawled across a bridge all by myself!

020

I was proud to be up here on my own. I’m such a big girl!

026

After I went back across the bridge I went down the slide with Grandma.

034

I found the water play area. It was amazing!

036

My water smock was just a tad big on me.

039

Grandma found one that fit me much better! Thanks goodness for her!

042

I loved collecting these toys, and…

045

…placing them on the floor. There were clearly too many toys in the water.

048

We had a short stop at the museum grocery store.

052

I had fun climbing on this toy.

055

Afterwards I would pretend I had fallen down, and I thought it was hysterical.

056

I’m so funny!

061

Next it was time for Dr. Robinson to make an appearance.

069

I made my rounds with my stethoscope.

073

I made sure to check in on the babies.

075

On the second floor we went to explore the farm exhibit.

078

I loved driving this tractor.

081

Riding in the tractor.

087

Mommy and I also drove the combine.

089

I had to check out the tractor one last time, though, because it was so great. Maybe I’ll be a farmer some day!

097

After the museum we went to go get some frozen yogurt. Here is Grandma’s cup.

100

Here is the cup that Mommy and I shared.

099

Before we ate our frozen yogurt, we had to take this picture to show Daddy that there are two types of mochi at this place. Yum!

102

Here I am eating our yummy dish. I loved it! The concerned look on my face is because we were wasting time with taking pictures instead of eating. Let’s dig in!
