Mommy and I often walk to the post office. It’s only a block away, but it takes us about 30 minutes because of frequent stops and explorations. We chronicled our journey today.
Here I am finding out that we get to go outside. I love it!
I try to put on my own shoes, but I can’t quite figure it out yet.
Mommy helps me put them on.
Shoes are on!
Coat is on. Let’s go!
Dragging Mommy down the stairs.
Freedom!
Our first stop of the day is to check out the sprinkler head. Have to keep those things working!
I get a little sidetracked in the yard, but Mommy gets me going in the right direction again.
Let’s go this way!
Hmmm…gotta check out this hole.
I’ll just go ahead and stick my finger in it.
Okay, back to walking.
Time to cross the street.
But first I need to check out these yellow bumps.
And I need to pick up a tiny rock.
We made it across crosswalk number one. Now it’s time for crosswalk number two.
I’ve got a rock in each hand and I’m going to the post office. What more could a girl want?
Oops. Dropped the rocks.
Just about have them picked up.
Got my rocks again. Let’s go!
I always like to pause here to look up at my favorite tree.
Isn’t it nice?
Okay, on our way again. (Notice, though, that Mommy has to hold onto my wrist because I’m holding onto my precious rocks.)
Oh my gosh! More rocks! I immediately drop my old rocks to get two new rocks.
I had to sit down to give myself time to pick the best rocks.
WE MADE IT!
I’m so happy that we’re finally here.
I expressed my joy by doing a little dance on the drain cover.
Here’s my area of the post office.
That’s my box.
There’s my mail.
We’ve got our mail. Let’s go home!
Out the door…
…down the slope, and…
Wait, what is this? Somebody dropped their mail. We can’t go home yet!
Mommy, please open the door.
I have some mail to return!
Okay, glad that’s been taken care of. Now we can go home!
We always get to see lots of big trucks on our walks. I love waving at them!
Starting our long journey home with a stick in hand.
Back to visit the amazing rock collection.
Ummmm…I don’t want this stick anymore.
I need a good handful of rocks!
Checking out the signs along the sidewalk.
Here comes a tractor! Another one of my favorite things to see on our walks.
Bye, bye tractor.
Time to go back across the street. Mommy always makes me hold her hand for this part. I’m not a big fan of that.
A quick break between the crosswalks. I was initially distracted by the yellow arrow, but then I found MORE ROCKS!
Crosswalk #2. I was sneaky and ran ahead of Mommy.
There goes another truck. Bye, bye truck.
The final stretch. We’re almost home.
Stopping to look at these pretty yellow flowers. I don’t know why Daddy doesn’t want them in our yard. They’re beautiful.
There’s just enough time to take a brief moment to roll around on the sidewalk.
Last bit of sidewalk, and…
We’re home!
All of that happened in just one block! Can you imagine what I will do when I’m older and can walk faster and farther?!
What a fun walk!!
