My First Valentine’s Day

I had such a great first Valentine’s Day! Mommy and I originally had some plans in the morning, but since I was sick, we made the best of our day at home.

022

My friends Crystal and Stella dropped by with some yummy rice krispie treats.

027

It was a little too big for me, so…

033

Mommy cut it up into Lainey-sized bites.

029

This was my dessert after lunch. I didn’t have enough room in my belly for my sandwich, but I definitely made room for all of my (first ever) rice krispie treat. It was amazing!!

023

While I was eating, our friendly UPS man stopped by with a package from Grandpa Jim and Grandma Shelly! We decided to wait to open the presents until later in the day.

035

Next I helped Mommy with some baking.

064

We made a raspberry chocolate cheesecake pie for Valentine’s Day dessert.

037

I was very helpful!

041

Next I spent some time playing with my heart-shaped balloon Grandma Melissa gave me last weekend.

044

I can’t believe it just floats up in the air! Amazing!

053

Mommy and I read a fun book about love.

056

I snuggled up in Mommy’s lap and we read for awhile.

061

When Daddy got home, we opened up the rest of our presents from Grandma and Grandpa Steck. Thank you!

059

My favorite part, though, was my card. Isn’t it neat?!

063

After I went to bed, Mommy and Daddy had steak, asparagus, and pink mashed potatoes.

066

Then they had the delicious raspberry chocolate cheesecake pie. I didn’t get to taste it, but Mommy said it was amazing. Thank goodness I was there to help her bake it. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I loved getting kisses all over!

Sweet little cheeks! (In case you’re not skilled at identifying my cheeks, they’re on the right.)

Kate and I had lots of fun together.

I’m grateful for all of the love in my life. I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!

My Early Birthday Party

Daddy’s family can’t make it to Colton for my birthday in March, so we had an early birthday celebration in Tacoma this weekend.

001

Grandma bought pretty flowers to decorate the table.

006

Hanging out with Uncle Terry.

012

The stray cat came to join the party. I LOVE this cat!

014

I would squeal with joy when this cat came around this weekend. He really made me laugh.

018

Chewing on my sandals from Uncle Charlie and Aunt Val.

021

This hat will keep me nice and warm.

024

I love my new red ball! Thanks Grandma Melissa and Grandpa Roland!

027

Opening my book “Countdown to Grandma’s House.”

041

Everyone sang to me while candles burned on a cake. Hmmm…kind of strange, but fun!

043

Grandpa cutting the red velvet cake.

048

This whole thing is mine?!

056

Sugar overload!

055

I had such a fun early birthday party. Thanks to everyone who came. I can’t wait to do it again in a month!

Emma’s Second Birthday Party

We traveled to the west side of the state for Emma’s second birthday party.

040

It was a kitty theme because Emma’s best friend is her cat, Wall-E.

003

Emma getting cat whiskers.

007

Emma and I were sure adorable!

009

We had a fun sensory bin filled with rice.

011

I was a little sleepy during the party, but I hung in there.

013

Working hard to get rice everywhere.

014

Hanging out at the party.

019

I loved this giraffe!

020

Emma had lots of fun with her family and friends.

027

Present time!

029

She loved her new toys.

031

She had fun opening presents. She kept saying, “More, more.”

035

Happy Birthday Emma! I’m so glad we could come celebrate with you!

My Birthday Invitations

Mommy decided that we’re going to do The Very Hungry Caterpillar theme for my birthday. I’m excited! The first thing that needs to be done is the invitation.

024

Here is an example of one of my invitations. Inside the jar is a very hungry caterpillar with a leaf for nourishment.

014

He’s just hanging out in there.

021

He ate some of the leaf. We covered the jars with a lid that was addressed to my friends I wanted to invite. Don’t worry, though…we cut holes in the top so the caterpillar could breathe.

007

I’m getting excited for my first birthday party!!

Fun in the Bathroom

The bathroom door is often shut because I love playing in the toilet water. This means I get really excited when Mommy is in there because I get to go have fun! I recently discovered toilet paper.

154

It’s so easy to pull.

156

I’m so proud of myself. It only took me two seconds to do this.

153

Once I pull the toilet paper out, I like to sit down and eat it. Yummy!

158

Mommy, let’s do this more often!

Super Bowl

We had a fun Super Bowl party at my house. We invited a bunch of people over to watch the game and to eat some delicious food. For those who wanted to participate, we had a hat-making contest.

005

Daddy made me a Super Bowl hat with a bowl on top. Silly Daddy!

010

It had peas, carrots, and bananas in it, which are some yummy super foods.

011

Daddy was rooting for the 49ers, so he made “The 9-er Shriner” hat.

022

Mommy was also rooting for the 49ers.

021

I just wanted to eat her hat. It was so tempting!

023

Clara made a fun hat! She was one of the winners of the contest.

027

Clara actually made two hats, so her mommy also got to wear one.

024

Jacob spent the entire first half of the game working on his hat.

028

Jacob and Celisse with their hats. Jacob was easily the other winner of this contest!

029

In the second half of the game, everyone enjoyed some grabbers from Ferdinand’s.

030

Oh boy, they sure looked yummy! I didn’t get one, but Mommy promised that I can have one when I’m older.

031

Here is the gang watching the game. It was a really fun Super Bowl! I can’t wait for next year!
